Just. Plain. Wrong...

When your male neighbour, who walks their dog past your house everyday, asks at a crowded social event "So, have you hung curtains upstairs yet?"

When you get back from your your holiday to find that your cleaner, searching for something to do, has tidied up your children's clothes drawers and managed to mix up all their clothes in the process.

When you get back from holiday to find that your cleaner has also tidied up your drawers.

Including THAT drawer.

When said cleaner - who admits to another income stream as a masseuse and who once turned up to clean a friends' house missing her front teeth, which she said she had lost in a work-related accident - offers to give you a massage when you're suffering from the 'flu.

And it's only a couple of weeks after she cleaned out THAT drawer.

Small boys, in tights.  I mean, in deepest winter, maybe, but at the end of April?  Come on, Russians.  It was +14degC and bright sunshine out there today...

  2. Haaaaaaa! That sounds like quite a cleaner. Ours is a deeply religious woman from the Philippines who has all her teeth and no second income stream. Thank God.

  3. I don't know which is creepier, your male neighbour or the toothless massuse cleaner...at least you can say life in Moscow is never dull.

  4. A toothless cleaner going beyond the line of duty is definitely a burden. Even mine does not go that far. If she is generally good, I would keep her though. A good cleaner is hard to come by. You will have to draw tight boundaries and keep the contents of that drawer in a locked container.

  5. Iota - I'm creeping MYSELF out!

MsC - ours is also from the Philippines.

NVG, luckily the first has moved on. And it's possible I will be moving on the second before long, too...

Irene, I think - after I had a brief conversation with her about never - NEVER - tidying the drawers again, it shouldn't be a problem.

  6. Ummmm?! Wow, what a story! Cleaner AND neighbour! I wonder if the neighbour saw anything while the cleaner was there without you...? No. Don't think it.
