Is it just me, or...?

Is it just me, or is this equipment slightly over the top for recording your child's Christmas concert?

Or am I just being a grinch?

(I probably wouldn't have minded, but she was blocking my view of Boy #1 with all her paraphernalia, stopping me extending my paparazzi telescopic lens all the way out, the selfish witch...)

  1. Brilliant. Slightly over the top? I'd say just a bit! Nice and subtle too!!

  2. Never mind that paraphernalia thingy, can you imagine then being made to sit and WATCH the whole bloody thing time and again?
    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
What ever is wrong with a couple of photos? (Of course, you know if I had been there I would have bopped her on the head and made some disparaging remark about her outfit).

  3. Definitely over the top, PM. She should have been stopped at the door. As to her outfit, those are awfully cute little sleeves, aren't they? XOX

  4. What - she didn't have it set up on a tripod? Very amateurish. Or maybe it's just the Americans who do that.

  5. How blinking ridiculous.. I bought the DVD, once, and it has sat gathering dust ever since.

Did you see the piece in the Telegraph about the father who bit off another father's finger in the queue for their nativity?

    So charming these events..

  6. Hi PM! At our primary school, those recording It used to have to stand at the back. Previous didn't allow at all - paedo health & safety stuff. Needless to say have never watched any of ours back.

  7. RS - oh yes, very subtle. (Subtle is not something the Russians buy into, as a rule)

LCM, disparaging remark about her outfit? YOU? Surely not... x

Nora, they are oh so cute, those sleeves...

MsC, well there were plenty of parents who did the tripod thing - but maybe her pole position in the front row was enough!

BM, I did NOT see that piece - but it doesn't suprise me...

Milla, I have to admit I did use a flip to record it - but obviously, for the grandparents, not me. Obviously...

  8. Amusingly the Russian parents at our nursery turned up with something similar to the nativity this morning... Given we were crammed into a tiny room and there wasn't even a stage it felt a little OTT
