(My mother stayed a few days after I came home with #1 and I couldn't wait for her to go home so we could just get into our own routine and handle our baby our way...)

That's an intriguing saying "she will come home from a cold fair" !! I like it. And agree with it. I don't think I was ever quite that naive about what it could be like. We saw these videos in the prenatal classes, and so went into it with our eyes wide open. The only thing my husband then hoped of me was that I could manage not to still be in my dressing gown when he got home from work.
But, those of you with more than one, you do look back now on when you had the one baby and think 'what did I think was so hard about that, then?' don't you? After you've juggled a toddler and a baby, one baby, in hindsight, does look easy doesn't it! Women have such wonderfully naive thoughts and expectations about motherhood. It's what allows them to get pregnant. And then they go and do it again, that's the mystery of it!Irenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05043376053971475659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175562867822111389.post-55378308132411715532008-04-07T23:49:00.000+01:002008-04-07T23:49:00.000+01:00I'd agree with Iota. A good friend of mine found having one baby so easy that she went on to have two as soon as she could (i.e. well under two years apart) and then added two more. It's not fair, is it. (PS she's also blond with a fantastic figure. But I think that's quite enough).
PPS I was not one of those mothers. Nor am I blond with a fantastic figure.
